Caledonia Varsity Volleyball Falls Short Against Rockford in League Opener

The Caledonia Varsity Volleyball team fell in their league opener on the road at Rockford High School on Thursday, September 14th. Caledonia set the tone for the match by coming out strong with a 25-15 win in the first set. Rockford battled back over the following two sets with scores of 25-21 and 25-16. Caledonia took set 4 with a score of 25-23, and fell in the 5th set with a score of 15-5. The Scots offense was led by Cambria Gaier with 16 kills, Aubrey Reynolds with 12, and Eliza Pehrson with 8. Jess Maier and Eliza Pehrson led all servers with 3 aces each. Jess Maier finished the night with 41 assists. On the defensive end, Georgia Pennington led the team with 5 blocks, followed by Aubrey Reynolds with 3, and Josie Noble and Jess Maier each with 2. Aubrey Reynolds led the Scots with 17 digs, followed by Avery Seif with 14, and Eliza Pehrson with 10. The Scots travel to Grand Haven High School next Thursday (9/21) for a 7 p.m. kickoff against the Buccaneers.
