The Scots threatened early, nearly breaking through in the second minute when Mady Mulder fired a shot just wide right off a cross from Baylee DeVries. After generating multiple corner kick opportunities, the Fighting Scots broke through in the 23rd minute. Emily Walbeck delivered a corner into the box, where Natalie James connected on a header from 13 yards out to the right side of the net for a 1-0 lead. Caledonia doubled its lead in the 31st minute as Jazmyn Thompson played the ball to DeVries, who found Kelsey Roszkowski in front for the finish and a 2-0 lead. The Fighting Scots extended the lead just before halftime when DeVries sent in a cross that James finished on a half-volley in the 37th minute, getting her second goal of the night and making the lead to 3-0 at half. Cal continued to press in the second half and added another goal in the 51st minute. Kayla Briseno scored from the far right wing outside the box, lifting a shot over the keeper to make it 4-0. The Scots continued to generate chances throughout the half. Roszkowski tested the Jenison goalkeeper multiple times, DeVries forced a save in the 66th minute, and James nearly completed the hat trick with a left-footed strike off the crossbar in the 69th minute. Jenison broke through late, scoring with 43 seconds remaining to make it 4-1.
