The Caledonia girls varsity soccer team remained unbeaten (1-0-2) to start the 2026 season after battling Vicksburg to a 0-0 draw at Scotland Yard on Wednesday night. The first half featured limited offensive opportunities for both sides, as each team worked to find rhythm and space. Vicksburg recorded the first shot on goal approximately 25 minutes into the match. The Fighting Scots earned two corner kicks and a free kick from the right sideline but were unable to register a shot on frame in the opening 40 minutes. Caledonia controlled much of the second half, keeping play in Vicksburg’s defensive end. The Bulldogs’ lack of depth began to show as the Scots maintained steady pressure. Freshman Reese Abbott recorded Caledonia’s first shot on goal in the 50th minute from the left wing, and junior Kelsey Roszkowski followed with an attempt from 18 yards out in the 62nd minute. In the final 10 minutes, the Scots created two strong chances. Senior Kortney Muller’s half-volley went just wide, and sophomore Myla Gortmaker sent a shot over the crossbar in the 73rd minute. Despite the sustained second-half pressure, we were unable to find the breakthrough and settled for a scoreless draw.
