Belmont, MI — The Caledonia Ski Team traveled to Cannonsburg to compete with teams from the Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo area in the Norm's GS Championships. The race was a giant slalom only race and skiers competed against skiers in the same grade. "We didn't bring home any medals at this race but we had fun racing a new hill under beautiful conditions. We had a few girls really skiing fast but ended up crashing which is part of the sport that people don't talk about. When you push your limits sometimes it pays off and sometimes it doesn't." Coach Petrosky "Even though a few of our top skiers had tough runs, we also had some of our developing skiers really make some huge strides at this race. Marin Dentler, a freshman, scored her first points for the team at the race with two of her best runs of the season." The Scots ended up 5th place in the team portion with Salome Rouhier (32nd), Madison Reynolds (36th), Marin Dentler (44th) and Aerianah Butte (50th) scoring. Caledonia's next race is the LMSC Championship race at Crystal Mountain on Tuesday Feb 17th and they end their regular season on Friday Feb 20th at Crystal Mountain with the Caledonia Invitational.
