Caledonia High School Athletics

The Fighting Scots came up just short in their game with the Grandville Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon at Van Andel arena. Cal shot 50% from the field and totaled 13 assists to 12 turnovers, but foul trouble, offensive rebounds, and second chance opportunities in the middle two periods were too much to overcome. After gaining a 4-point lead in the first quarter, Cal struggled in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, where Grandville was able to extend their lead to double-digits. After a fierce comeback in the 4th quarter where the Grandville lead was cut to 4 points with under a minute remaining, poised FT shooting enabled Grandville to extend their lead to 7 and close the game out. Brooklyn McLeod, Reese Abbott, and Myla Gortmaker led the Scots in scoring with 15, 11, and 9 points respectively. Mallory Graham totaled 7 rebounds and Reese Abbot dished out 3 assists.
