The 8th grade basketball team started 2025 off with a double overtime thriller against Carmel last night. It was a close game throughout, with neither team being able to pull away from the other. Down three in regulation, Zack Hoover had the awareness to catch in transition and step back to hit a game tying 3 with just seconds left. Carmel would connect on a shot to send the game to its second overtime. With just 3 seconds remaining and down 1, Zack Spina would drain a 3 from the wing to give the Dogs the thrilling win! Joseph Usani was a beast on the boards with 17 rebounds to go with his 14 points. Zack Spina would also score 14 including the game winning shot and also grabbed 4 rebounds. Zack Hoover ended the game with 12 points. EJ Johnson grabbed 5 rebounds before fouling out late in the game. The Dogs look to keep this momentum going vs Avon South tonight.
