It was a warm night and your 8th Grade Bulldogs didn’t take long to start cooking with the second play on a pass connection between Brody Woodruff & Brandon Jones going 65 Yards for a TD. A fantastic Kickoff pinned Zionsville on their 3 yard line and our defense got us the ball back by forcing a punt. Marcus Jackson & Micah Billups had great receptions to move the ball down the field. Then it was time to hit pay dirt again as Brody Woodruff found Micah Billups in the end zone to put us up 12-0. Our offense answered the call & Marcus Virgil had a 50 yard reception from Brody Woodruff. Then Reed Johnson hit the turbo jets and scored on a pitch from 27 yards out. Brandon Jones caught the two point conversion from Brody Woodruff and we extended the lead 20-0. Which ended up being the final score of the game. The defense had a goal line stand right before halftime. Though the score remained the same the entire second half, there was great defense played by your Bulldogs. The ground game was led by Reed Johnson again but Cortland Marcus & Brody Woodruff had some big first down runs. Brian Vaughn, Nico Clark & David Bester also carried the ball last night. The air attack was spread around with Brandon Jones, Micah Billups, Marcus Virgil, Souleyman Ouattara, Marcus Jackson, Elijah Hawkins and Brooks Lewis all gaining first downs throughout the game. Abdulmaleek Alabi and Cortland Marcus had tackles for losses, Brian Vaughn defended 3 passes and both Cortland Marcus and Zack Pappas swatted passes out of the air on defense. Micah Billups led the team with tackles. The offensive line didn’t give up any sacks but the MVP of this game was our Stout Defense. Way to go Dogs!!!
