Brownsburg East Middle School

It was the 2nd night in a row for the East Girls to play a team from Avon, this time hosting Avon North. And for the second straight match, the Lady Dogs were dominant; this time winning in a 6-hole (Par 24) match 129-170 in what was, by far, the best the team has played all season!. Kate Cornwell was on fire, earning match medalist with a 28. More on Kate later. Laila Leaman played her best match ever, coming in with a 33. Ashlyn Martin and Rachel Rhoades both posted a 34 to complete the team scoring, with Ashlyn getting a par for the first time as an East Golfer. Emery Mygrant (37) and Ava Wilson (39) also played very nice golf for the Dogs. Now back to Kate. Before the match, Kate was challenged by Coach Johns break 50, something she has never done on the school team. While the official match only completed six holes, Kate’s group played all 9. Kate birdied the final hole (driving the green on the par 4 9th) to finish with an amazing 40! It was the cherry on top of a great evening for the entire team. The ladies will get a break from action for several days before traveling to Cool Lake Golf Club next Tuesday to compete with Western Boone.
