The East golfers began their season in style as they traveled to Brickyard Crossing on Wednesday to compete in a rare 4-way match. Making good adjustments from the high rough and very fast greens, the Lady Dogs finished in 2nd place with a 6-hole score of 147, defeating Paul Hadley (163) and Speedway (178). Brownsburg West won the match with a 135. Kate Cornwell set the tone early, blasting the first tee shot of the night down the middle and finishing with a 32, good for 2nd Place Overall. Rachel Rhoades posted a well-played 36, including nearly driving the green on the Par-4 5th hole. Making her middle-school golf team debut, Emery Mygrant played the Par 5s great and posted a 39. Laila Leaman shot a 40, (7 strokes better than last year!) to complete the team score. Ashlyn Martin gained valuable experience in her first-ever middle school match, shooting a 47. On Thursday, the ladies will play at West Chase in the East vs. West match.
