Bremen Athletics Welcomes Justin Bogunia as Head Varsity Football Coach

Bremen High School is proud to announce the recommendation of Mr. Justin Bogunia as our next Head Varsity Football Coach, pending school board approval on May 14th. Coach Bogunia brings a wealth of experience and success to the position. He served as the Head Football Coach at John Glenn High School for 15 seasons (1998–2012), where he also held the role of Athletic Director for nine years. During his tenure, he became the winningest coach in John Glenn Football history, compiling a career record of 101-67 and leading the team to 14 consecutive winning seasons. Under his leadership, the program captured two sectional championships and one regional title. After his time at John Glenn, Coach Bogunia moved to the Nashville, Tennessee area and served as an assistant coach at Lipscomb Academy from 2012 to 2019. He later returned to Northern Indiana and joined the coaching staff at LaVille High School, where he was the Offensive Coordinator from 2021 to 2023. During his final two seasons at LaVille, the team posted an impressive 21-3 record and set a school record with 11 wins in a single season. Coach Bogunia holds a Master’s Degree from Indiana University and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Evansville. He and his wife, Cayce, currently reside in Bremen. A 1992 graduate of Bremen High School, Coach Bogunia is also a proud alumnus of the 1989 State Championship football team. We are excited to welcome him back home and look forward to the future of Bremen Football under his leadership.
