Bremen Athletics

The Bremen girls headed to the Goshen sectional today held at OxBow park. All of the summer training, in season training and hard efforts came down to the goals set for this meet. We had a few girls on the team looking for a successful last race, while others were looking to punch a ticket to regionals. The competition was fierce. Goshen, Fairfield, Northridge, Wawasee, Northwood, Elkhart Christian, Elkhart, Westview, Concord and Jimtown were looking to fill the 5 team advancement and 15 individual place advancements. In the end Bremen was able to secure three regional qualifying positions. Grace Moyer finished 8th overall securing her place at regionals next Saturday. As a freshman Grace has really made a name for herself. Today’s finish was no exception. Corinne Muck and Lauren Hartsell finished 37th and 41st place overall. After the top 5 team athletes were subtracted they also had spots as regional qualifiers. This will be Corinne’s first appearance as a freshman and Lauren’s second as a junior. Charlotte Rink finished out her first season successfully with a solid sectional race. Harlow Rogers DNF today, but also had a very successful first year experience. Congratulations to Grace, Corinne and Lauren on qualifying for regionals in a very tough and talented field of competition.
