Bremen senior Luke Kincaid reached the podium at the Boys Track and Field State Finals on Friday. Luke placed 8th in a highly competitive field. Luke then proceeded to be named the recipient of the Robert S. Hinshaw Mental Attitude Award. Per the IHSAA, "The IHSAA Executive Committee presents the award to an outstanding senior participant in the boys track and field state tournament. The recipient of this award, who was nominated by his principal and coach, must excel in mental attitude, scholarship, leadership, and athletic ability in track and field. The boys track and field mental attitude award is named in honor of the late Robert S. Hinshaw who gave unselfishly to the boys high school track program in Indiana as a participant, coach, and as the IHSAA's first assistant commissioner from 1945-1961. Farm Bureau Insurance, the IHSAA corporate partner, presents a $1,000 scholarship to the school in the name of the recipient." This is a truly prestigious honor, as Luke is the only recipient from our state. His persistent commitment to excellence in the classroom, across multiple sports programs, and in his actions off the field, track, and court is truly commendable. Congratulations, Luke! You've made Bremen proud!
