Baseball Advances to Sectional Championship After 4-2 Win

The Lions baseball team will play for a sectional championship on Monday evening after beating Winamac 4-2 to open sectional play. Bremen took the lead in the first and added 2 in the 4th and 1 in the 5th. The Lions collected 7 hits on the day. Aden Hunziker had himself a great all around day by going 6 1/3 innings on the mound allowing only 3 hits and 2 runs while striking out 5 batters. At the plate, Hunziker hit big solo home run in the 5th inning to push the Lion lead to 4 runs. Brady Weldy closed out the game coming in with the bases loaded and 1 out with the top of the Winamac order coming up. Weldy battled allowing 1 hit before recording the final out on a pop out to right. Bremen will play Jimtown for a championship on Monday evening at 5:30 at Jimtown.
