Bremen Athletics

The 5th grade lions basketball team traveled to North Liberty to compete in their end of season tournament. Both A and B teams were able to win their first games against Walkerton to take on Laville A and B in the championship games; however, both teams came up short in the second games. In the first game, the A team was able to come out on top of Walkerton 13-10. Scoring in this game was Allen Andujar with 3, Peter Varner with 4, and Gaehl Arias with 6. The B team was able to get off to a strong start and carry their momentum throughout the game, winning 17-2. Scoring in this game was Rome Williams and Lucas Castillo with 2, Jase Garrett with 5, and Roman Sime with 8. In the second game against Laville, both A and B teams battled until the end; however, A team came up short 24-13 and B team lost 25-7. Scroing in the A game was Zeke Rohde with 2, Andujar with 4, and Arias with 7. Scoring in the B game was Michael Byer with 2 and Garrett with 5. Bobby Suhanosky and Lissandro Gonzalez added standout defense in both games. This tournament concludes the 5th grade boys season. Congrats on a great season, boys!
