Get involved in a spring sport starting in February

Spring sports will be starting soon. Before your child can participate, they will need a valid KHSAA physical. The KHSAA physical document requires a doctor's examination. Physicals are valid for one year and 30 days from the date of the doctor’s examination. Your child will also need a trainer release form. These documents are available on the "other info" link on this website. Some spring sports have been doing conditioning activities, but most spring sports do not officially begin until February 15. Below is information about our spring sports, their coaches, and when they are having tryouts or their first official practice. All practices are at BCHS unless otherwise noted. Please direct any questions to the appropriate coach. More information about spring sports is attached. Baseball Coach: Wayne Huff (waynem.huff@boone.kyschools.us) Tryouts/First Practice: Tryouts are in the small gym on Feb. 15, 16 & 17 from 5-7 p.m. and on Feb. 18, 12-3 p.m. Must bring 1st semester report card. Esports Coach: Jay VanRyzin (jay.vanryzin@boone.kyschools.us) Tryouts/First Practice: First practice is in room 218 on Feb. 2 at 2:45. Registration ends Feb. 10. First competition is Feb. 18. Fastpitch Softball Coach: Andy Petridis (andyp@idsllc.aero) Tryouts/First Practice: Tryouts are in the BCHS gyms on Feb. 15 from 3:30-5, Feb. 16 5-7, Feb. 17 3:30-5, and Feb. 18 9-11 a.m. Separate arrangements will be made for winter athletes still in season.
