Shaun Roberts is a member of the football team previously under the direction of head coach Bryson Warner. Shaun is the son of Tracy Strunk, and he will continue playing at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky, where he intends to study psychophysiology. Coach Warner praised Shaun’s work ethic, determination and leadership, and said he was instrumental in the team’s success. He said he has a phenomenal future and wants to thank him for his leadership. Josh Wick is another member of the football team previously under the direction of coach Warner. Josh is the son of Heather and Bob Thacker, and he will continue playing at Midway University in Midway, Kentucky, where he intends to study business. Coach Warner said Josh was the first player on the field and the last one off at every practice, and that his toughness, work ethic and leadership were an inspiration to his teammates. Warner said he always gives everything, he is a pleasure to coach, and he has a tremendous future. He also wanted to thank him for his tremendous leadership. The next signee is Marlee Vier, a member of the volleyball team under the direction of coach Michelle Papas. Marlee is the daughter of Mimi and Chris Vier, and she will continue playing at the University of Cincinnati Clermont in Batavia, Ohio, where she intends to study business communications. Coach Papas said the program is incredibly proud of Marlee for her five seasons of varsity play, which gave her the experience to be a leader on the court, in the classroom and across campus in various student organizations. She also said she knows Marlee will be an amazing asset to her college team, and the coaches will be forever grateful for the impact she made on the program. The fourth signee is Sami Sierocki, a member of our swim team under the direction of coach Lance Melching. Sami is the daughter of Mike and Melissa Sierocki, and she will continue swimming at Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky, where she intends to study middle grades education. Coach Melching called Sami one of the fiercest competitors he’s ever coached, and said that she pushed herself as hard as any swimmer he’s had. He is confident that those characteristics will drive Sami to continued success, and he is excited to follow her swimming at the next level. The first spring signee is Chris Henson, a member of the baseball team under the direction of coach Wayne Huff. Chris is the son of Glenn Henson and Jill Henson, and he will continue playing at Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis, where he intends to study business management. Coach Huff praised Henson for his leadership. He said Henson leads by example by arriving first and leaving last, setting up for practices without being asked, and developing younger players in the program. He is also a straight A student who has accepted a scholarship to one of the top junior colleges in the south. The final signee is Josie Hollingsworth, a softball player under the direction of head coach Chris Kinman. Josie is the daughter of Samantha Hollingsworth and Daniel Turner, and she will continue to play at Berea College in Berea, Kentucky, where she intends to study engineering. Coach Kinman called Josie a “big contributor” to the program since 7th grade and praised her work ethic both at practice and on her own time. He credited that work ethic with earning her the opportunity to play at the next level. He called himself lucky to watch Josie grow in each of her years at Boone, and said Berea was lucky to be getting such an outstanding student athlete.
