Boone County High School

Boone County High School is excited to announce that the next baseball coach will be Adam Shumate. Shumate brings 10 years of high school coaching experience at a variety of levels. He spent nine years at Dixie Heights where he developed an offseason conditioning program while also serving at various times as varsity pitching coach, junior varsity assistant, and freshman head coach. Last season, he was the varsity assistant coach at Ludlow High School. Shumate played high school baseball at Covington Catholic before playing college baseball for three seasons at Miami University Hamilton. Shumate holds a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Health, and is a certified biology teacher. He has worked in the Boone County High School science department since 2019. The search committee was excited to have a candidate in the building with a strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals and an even stronger commitment to growing the baseball program and developing younger players.
