College bound athletes recognized on 2026 signing night

Araceli Acosta is a member of the cheer team under the direction of head coach Katrina Lawson. Araceli is the daughter of Dawn & Aaron Acosta, and she will continue cheering at Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights where she intends to study business. Coach Lawson called Araceli “an incredible example of leadership, dedication, and heart,” and said she leads with “consistency, passion and determination while always putting her teammates and the team culture first.” Lawson also said that Araceli had made a lasing impact on the program, and they are proud to see her continue her journey. Jase Turner is a member of our football team under the direction of head coach Dan Court. Jase is the son of Daniel Turner and Samantha Hollingsworth, and he will continue playing at Union Commonwealth University in Barbourville where he intends to study psychology. Coach Court called Jase a “dominant offensive lineman” whose hard work helped pave the way for a 1,000 yard rusher. The coaches credited his curiosity, coachability, technique, footwork, natural skill, and commitment to making him one of the area’s top linemen. They said Jase was like having another coach, and that Union is getting an outstanding football player and young man who can make an impact sooner rather than later. Court said he is both “proud” and “excited to see what his future holds.” Drake Landrum is a member of our boys basketball team under the direction of head coach Todd Humphrey. Drake is the child of Tiffany Storer and Dominic Storer, and he will continue playing at Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Mount Vernon, Ohio, where he intends to study exercise science & athletic training. Coach Humphrey called Drake “a hard worker, a great young man, and someone who made coaching truly enjoyable every single day” thanks to his attitude, work ethic, and commitment. Humphrey credits those things with making Drake one of the region’s best shooters with an outstanding 44% from the 3-point line. He continued to say that “what makes Drake special goes far beyond the numbers,” and the coaches “know he’ll continue to represent himself, his family, and our program the right way.” Mason Coughenour is a member of our boys baseball team under the direction of head coach Wayne Huff. Mason is the child of Emily and Jarod Coughenour, and he will continue playing at Great Lakes Christian College in Waverly, Michigan, where he intends to study social sciences. Coach Huff called Mason “dedicated” and “hardworking,” and pointed out that he has earned more than 50 hits over three varsity seasons while “consistently demonstrating leadership, determination, and a strong work ethic on and off the field.” Huff praised Mason’s commitment to improving and his support of his teammates. Finally, he said it was Mason’s “passion for baseball and drive to compete” that have allowed him to play at the next level, and the coaches are “excited to see all that Mason will accomplish in the future.” Ryley Thomas is the child of Shannon Myers and Robert Thomas, and she is going to cheer at Northern Kentucky University where she intends to study radiologic science. Cayleigh Mullins is the child of Shaun Collins and Jenna Stroude, and she is going to run track at Thomas More University where she plans to study early childhood education.
