Beech Grove Middle School Athletics

Beech Grove Middle topped Lapel Middle School Softball 7-6 on Monday after taking the lead late in the game. Beech Grove Middle A Team were down 6-5 in the top of the seventh inning when Kyrah Pierle grounded out, scoring two runs. Beech Grove were the first to get on the board in the first when an error scored one run. Lapel committed an error, which helped Beech Grove Middle A Team tie the game at three in the top of the fifth. Lapel jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning after Lapel scored on a passed ball, and Leah Masi stole home, each scoring one run. Beech Grove Middle A Team made the score 7-6 in the top of the seventh after Whitney Campbell singled, scoring one run, Samarah Turner doubled, scoring one run, and Pierle grounded out, scoring two runs. Pierle began the game for Beech Grove Middle A Team. They gave up 10 hits and six runs (four earned) over seven innings, striking out three and walking three. Hayden Fanning, Pierle, and Turner each collected two hits for Beech Grove Middle A Team. Pierle and Campbell each drove in one run for Beech Grove Middle A Team. Fanning and Nola Alford each stole multiple bases for Beech Grove Middle A Team.
