Bedford Athletics

The Bedford boys track team competed at the prestigious Saline Golden Triangle Invitational on Friday. The Mules had some great performances in the cold weather. Here are the highlights: The 4x800m Relay team of Cameron Varner, Logan Thomas, Dane Hieronimus, and Maddi Duke began the day with a 4th place Medal with a time of 8:00.18. This personal best time moves them to #9 in Michigan this year and #4 for Bedford all time. Masyn Moran threw 49’0.5” in the shot put earning a 4th place medal. Sawyer Pienta also made the finals in the shot put with a 45’7.75” for 7th. AJ Varner ran 15.16 in the 110m Hurdles for a 4th place medal. Trent Smithson, Alex Mapes, and Drew Bilik all also made the finals. Maddi Duke ran a season's best of 1:55.01 in the 800m earning a 5th place medal. Maddi moves up to #9 in Michigan this year. Dane Hieronimus ran a person best of 9:39.98 in the 3200m placing 9th The 4x400m Relay team of Brandon McCloud, Logan Thomas, Bryce McCloud, and Maddi Duke earned a 3rd place Medal with a time of 3:26.71 This personal best time moves them to #16 in Michigan this year and #4 for Bedford all time. To end the day the coach’s relay team of Preston Ulery, Josh Gagne, Zack Scoble, and Charles Hilsenbeck dominated the competition running the sprint medley relay (100-100-200-400) in a time of 1:41.
