McKEESPORT, Pa. – Aquinas Academy Girls Soccer picked up its first win of the 2026 season in dominant fashion, defeating rival Serra Catholic 6-1. The Crusaders' offense came alive with six goals from four different players. Sophomore Mary Grace Dolan scored twice, while sophomore Gabby Keverline also found the back of the net twice. Senior captain Lucy Keverline added a goal, and Adeline Phelps rounded out the scoring for Aquinas. Freshman Bella Rossi was a force in goal, turning in a strong performance behind a Crusader defense that limited Serra Catholic to just one goal. "It was a beautiful night for soccer, and very special for the girls to get their first win of the season!" Assistant Coach Maria Phelps said. "It was a great team win. The girls played strong defense, had a lot of good passing combinations through the midfield and up the sidelines, and created many scoring opportunities. The Keverline sisters combining for three goals was definitely a highlight." Senior captain Lucy Keverline said the energy was high from the opening whistle and praised the team's passing, unselfish play, and focus throughout the victory. With the win, the Crusaders even their section record at 1-1 and now turn their attention to a huge home matchup against the Carlynton Cougars on Monday, September 21. Game time is set for 6:30 PM at J.C. Stone Field.
