The saints traveled to Newcomerstown to bring home a sweep in straight sets — 25-16, 25-19, 25-21. Leading the way offensively was Miya Olson, who powered down 10 kills to pace the Saints’ front line. Khloe Trivoli added another strong performance, finishing with 9 kills and a team-high 13 digs, making an impact on both ends of the floor. Nora Jackson continued to be a steady presence, contributing 9 kills along with 10 assists, while Jess Selinsky orchestrated the offense with 18 assists and chipped in 7 kills of her own. The duo’s smart playmaking helped keep the Newcomerstown defense on its heels throughout the match. Ryann Walker made her presence felt at the service line, recording 3 aces to go along with consistent serving that kept the Trojans off balance. Defensively, Wynter Hayes chipped in with 7 digs, helping to anchor the back row and extend rallies. Angel McConnell also added to the team’s offensive effort with a kill, as nearly every player found a way to contribute in the win. The JV fell short tonight against Newcomerstown (21-25, 25-20, 15-25). Leading the JV was Suzanna Sica Calel with 25 digs, 5 kills and 7 aces, Bella Milburn and Addi Meryo also added 5 kills each, while Lynsie Tienarend tallied 11 assists. With the victory, the Saints continue to build momentum early in the season, showing a blend of offensive firepower and defensive grit that will make them a tough matchup going forward. The Saints will host Buckeye Trail on Thursday with the JV starting at 5:30.
